Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach is located in the southeastern tip of the state along the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. With a population of 450,435, it is the most populous city in Virginia.

The Virginian-Pilot reported that an analysis by the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization found that the road in greatest need of safety improvement was eastbound Interstate 64 from Northampton Boulevard to Interstate 264. The stretch of road had about 127 more accidents per year than would have been predicted and had 221 accidents causing 73 injuries in a single recent year. Virginia Beach had five of the top 10 spots with the most potential for safety improvement, according to the Virginian-Pilot.

Norfolk

In December 2018, WTKR-TV reported that four crashes occurred at the same time of day at the same location on a stretch of Interstate 64 East in Hampton. The crashes included a two-vehicle, property damage only accident, two single-vehicle, property damage only crashes, and one crash involving three vehicles that killed one person.

Newport News

Newport News is located at the end of the Virginia Peninsula, also known as the Lower Peninsula. The city has a number of distinctive neighborhoods, including Brandon Heights, Beaconsdale, North End Huntington Heights, Morrison, Port Warwick, and Windsor Great Park.
